Try Workout Of the Day

I wrote about Crossfit in my very very very early posts. Here is the link. I called it 'the next big thing'. Well...I would now like to correct my self. It is the NOW BIG THING. It is absolutely insane. The workouts are like 15 - 20 minutes long (including the warm up) but extremely high in intensity. I have been going to the guy for a long long time, but after trying this, I was seriously depressed because all that hard work did not REALLY make me all that fit!!
The main idea is a combination of strength training and cardio. Typically we do a strength training session and then a cardio session, BUT what these Crossfit super humans do is do both at the same time e.g. 21 clean and jerks without any rest and with a reasonably heavy weight. I have recently start some Crossfit routines and the numbers and times are impossible to reach e.g. 100 pull ups (kipping pull ups), 100 push ups, 100 Squats and 100 situps. Now, very honestly, this will completely burn you out. If you want to be FIT i.e. really really fit then go to a crossfit affiliated gym and see the changes in your body. Ahh but if you want to have that bodybuilder sort of look then, crossfit ain't for you. Crossfit is for people who want to adopt to a healthy liftstyle rather. You will definitely get a good physique, but more like a toned and defined look rather than a bulked up body builder look. At the same time, you get the strength and stamina. Maybe that's why everyday, more and more women and moving towards crossfit!!! HMMM!!!!
Go to the crossfit site and read about the concept. You can view lots and lots of their videos on youtube. There is this lady called Nicole and MAN is she strong. Go on...type in Nicole crossfit on youtube and you will see what I mean.
Try the easiest routine of crossfit and share your experience here :)

Cross Fit has become the new 'hot' fitness regimen, but at the end of the day there is really nothing revolutionary going on within Cross Fit. The principles have been around for a long time and I would also tell you that Cross Fit can certainly help you with over all strength and fitness. However, the best way to body build or sculpt is still to focus and isolate muscles within a traditional well equiped gym. I can tell you this because I have been a professional bodybuilder for over 8 years. Thanks so much and I enjoy your site.

It takes less time with their training. Ideally, it should take 25 to 45 minutes. Long breaks between sets will not achieve their objectives. Be forced to keep moving and your body will be upwards. As you increase the pace of its muscle to obtain training, your body will increase the speed at which you create muscle.

I've been doing crossfit for the past four weeks and I think this is THE BEST form of training that I have found so far in my life.

The exercises are ridiculously hard, but they are short so it doesn't take too much wind out of me.

I think crossfit is something I'm going to be doing a lot in the near future.

I've been doing a similar kind of training myself on and off for about a year.

I have to say that the combination of HIIT Cardio and resistance training works really well.

I'd recommend it for anyone who's interested in incorporating weight training into their workout routine, burning fat and getting toned.

Build Muscle Fast said...

Finally, a credible post about combining cardio and weightlifting. You mention crossfit not being for bodybuilders but you can tone down the intensity and still get some great results negating the need for hours of cardio. I've found supersetting my exercises with 90 seconds between supersets.

An alternative which has also worked for me is high intensity training - doing a full body workout (approximately 8 exercises) with no rest, then taking a 3 minute reset and repeating the full body workout. Really helped me blast through some plateaus.

Eating the right foods can help your body build muscle. But you can't just eat the right foods. Consuming plenty of protein and carbohydrates without exercise will have the reverse effect, and you're going to build fat, not muscle.
